Pidgeon is rethinking how people keep up with the world.
Our lives hinge on access to information. Yet finding it is still our job: we open the tabs, follow the feeds, sign up for the alerts, read the news.
We think it should work the other way around. You say what you care about once, in your own words. Someone goes out and reads for you, all day, and comes back only when there’s something you’d want to know. That is what we call a pidgeon.
For centuries, pigeons carried the information that couldn’t wait. They flew messages into besieged cities. They carried prices between stock exchanges. They brought word back from the front. Then came the telegraph, the telephone, the computer, the internet. Information now travels instantly, and the hard part is digging up what matters to you.
That’s why we built Pidgeon.
We believe in a world where the asymmetries come from what you do with information, not from access to it.
Maybe you are a founder, sending out pidgeons to keep you posted on your market and your competition.
Maybe you are an art lover, sending pidgeons to keep track of new exhibitions, concerts and auctions.
Maybe you have a deep, curious obsession, like shark attacks or the northern lights, and a pidgeon writes to you when it happens.
And every time a pidgeon flies out to fetch and deliver information to you, it understands the world, and your ask, a little better.
Our mascot is a rock dove, engraved for William Yarrell’s History of British Birds in 1843. His name is json.
